It was a fun day piloting our microplastic detection kits with rising 6th–8th graders at Holy Redeemer School!

Today, students learned about how pervasive microplastics are in our waterways and had the chance to see them firsthand using fluorescent imaging. They explored microplastics in a variety of real-world samples, from environmental water to bird stomach contents, and discovered how scientists detect these tiny pollutants that are often invisible to the naked eye.

It's always exciting to see students light up with curiosity when science becomes something they can experience for themselves. Here's to inspiring the next generation of environmental scientists and problem solvers!
